LINEUP DAEDLINES

Lineup deadlines each series are first NL pitch Monday or first NL pitch Friday. Note: Once a new series begins you can immediately set your lineup for the next series. This means you have all day mon, tue, wed, thu to set or reset your lineup for the weekend series, so there really no reason to miss a deadline... For the Monday series you can make changes starting Friday nite or earlier if the Cubbies are hosting one of their frequent 320pm starts (note that is 420 :) here on the Coast)...

Absolutely no mulligans or breaks will be given to anyone ever for missing a lineup deadline. Refresh the site and confirm your lineup has been taken by the system before you log out because any claims of site failure to accept a lineup will not be considered. You must submit a legal lineup every week and any illegal lineups will be resolved with potential for maximum point loss to the offender...
If you feel site is not working email your lineup to the entire league and the time stamp will be evidence of submission. Please use email to the entire league and just me for: Lineup Changes, Trades, IFA.

Draft Sunday April 1, 2012 730pm

Draft/Rosters/Points

We will draft online via a combination web interface/ free teleconference, which I find really helps make things go smoother. Draft is about 2.5 hours and is 730pm Sunday April 1 so please save the appointment.
All our owners are busy and everyone needs to attend the draft to make this league work. For some this is the only league we play and we want/need it to be good based on mutual respect of time.
I will make draft materieals, tools, cheat sheets available for anyone who needs them to help in this tremendous crap shoot/talent grab that is a fantasy draft. Draft is not an auction and order is randomly determined reveresed every round..

Roster sizes are 26 players and you start 11 hitters and any combination of 8 starting or relief pitchers each series.

Hitters include: C 1B 2B SS 3B 4OFS also one additional middle infielder and one additional corner inf.

Batting Points: 1b-2, 2b-3, 3b-5, HR-6, RBI-1, BB-1, R-1, SB-2, also subtract -.5 for each AB, -1 for strikeout.

Pitching Points: W-10, SV-10, QS-10, IP-1, K-1, HOLD-4, also,subtract: L-5, BS-5, ER-1,

135- Game Regular Season, 2 matchups per week (each best of three)

The key element of this custom game is that it is head-head and point based with two head-head matchups each week.

We play a head-head 3-game series running Mon thru Thurs.

Then your franchise squares off against a different opponent Fri-Sun, just like in the majors.

What separates this league from all others is how we mirror the regular season schedule/format/rhythym and also that every single nite of the season your team will be battling for a game in the standings.

No major commericial site has been able to reproduce this riveting adrenalin pumping format.

In each 3-game series:

*Most/Least combined batting points is worth one Win/lLoss in the standings,

*Most/Least pitching points is worth one Win/Loss in the standings,

*Most/Least combined Total pitch/bat points is worth one Win/Loss in the standings.

Standings are updated the morning after each series is over, so that is Mon and Fri morning you will either sweep/get swept/ or split 2-1 or 1-2 your 3-game series.

Our regular season is 45 head-head series or 135 games and ends 3 weeks prior to MLB regular season so we have quality playoffs.

Playoffs

Incomplete OR Ineligible lineups

The problem: Generals inadvertently did not submit a 1b, 2b, 3b position players this week. The solution was to take the only players available to plug in off the bench.

I agree Tony/Kenny have a point that Generals lineup should be reconfigured to be as ineffective as possible however, the prevailing system is to construct a legal lineup with the least effort and advantage to the inadvertent perpetrator.

To populate lineups with Unfilled Position Players once play has begun:

* Leave everyone submitted at ltheir eligible position where they are
* Fill in the Open slots with bench players eligible at vacant positions.
* The Eligible bench player who scores The Least points is he who fills the vacancy.

If Desmond did quality at a vacant slot, he would/could be inserted, but the availalble slots were 1b-2b-3b. There were four players on bench. Desmond was the only of the four who does not quality at the Unfilled slots without moving legally started players Out of the lineup.

I realise this explanation may not seem satisfactory.
Either system has its plusses or minuses, I think its just pick your poison.
Based on my experience the last dozen years or so this works but Im game for a change if desired.
----------------------------------------
Note: If one of the 8 players in Generals lineup had been started at an Ineligible slot, that player would be removed and replaced by the worst performing player eligible from bench.
Note: You may start less than 8 pitchers without having the holes mandatorily patched, but you do need 8 pitchers on your roster.
